Our Pets...
We love animals :) Dominic is real fond of dogs and I am fond of horses. Over the years we have kept a few pets, and much enjoyed having them with us.

2007:
We now have two siamese fighter fishes...
After finding Patches a new home, we decided to get two Siamese
Fighter fishes, as we could not be in a house without a pet. We
had already decided to take in Jerry after the baby comes along,
but for now we decided just fishes would do.
We keep them in seperate bowls, as they can't be put together
for their own safety,(they are both male siamese fighters remember?)
and the bowls are place on either side of our TV bench.
We clear the water ad and when it turns slightly murky, but all
in all, these fishes are hardy and low maintenance. They are both
a nice reddish shade and real pretty to look at. :)

2006: We then had Patches' a scottish fold
cat...
When we moved to sharjah, our new apartment was spacious and had
a balcony so we decided to take in Patches.
Patches and my other
cat that stays with my parents, Jerry, had kittens and on October
1st two kittens were born. One of the kitten looked just like
Jerry and we called him 'Mannu' and the other looked like Ashley,
(Patche's mother) and we called him Blackie.
Patches is really cute and so are the kittens. She is petrified
of strangers, and the moment she hears the doorbell, she scrambles
under the sofa and hides there till she is certain everyone has
left. sometimes, she becomes brave enough to venture outside and
sit in a corner watching us. Jerry does this too, so I guess it
kind of runs in their family.
Mannu was born with some kind of physcial defect, unfortunately,
and try as we might we couldn't help him, so we had to take him
to the vet and put him to sleep. Blackie is now staying with Jochan
uncle &family.
Finally, when we found out that I was expecting & also that my
parents would not be able to care for Jerry much longer, we decided
to find Patches a new home and after the baby come, to bring Jerry
in to live with us. We were able to find Patches a loving home
with 2 other cats, with an european family staying in Dubai.

2005:
In our first home, we had Trixie...
She had a mind of her own and was smart.. real smart. we taught
her to 'sit', 'lie down' and to take the food only after she was
told to 'take'. The last of these she would do perfectly if we
were staring at her the whole time, just incase we turned our
attention she would seize the opportunity to grab at her food
and then obviously there was no stopping her. :)
She was always on the alert for the slightest sound of anything
or anyone at our front door and the moment she heard something,
anything, she would start barking madly. There were times we were
sure the nieghbours would have our head for the racket she would
sometimes cause at night just because she might have heard a key
turn in the lock of some other apartment. Her bark was louder
than she looked, you could hear it all the way down the corridor
of our floor...!
But eventually we had to give her back to her previous owners,
because of her habit of 'wreacking havoc' in the house and chewng
anything that came within grabbing range of her mouth... She even
chewed right through her leash in a matter of 5 hours. Then we
got smart and got her a metal leash. |
